Brathay Hall Trust has received a generous Bursary of £50,000 to support the charity’s work with disadvantaged young people. Brathay will use this grant over the next two years to help fund personal and social development training programmes for around 1000 disadvantaged young people from across England and Wales.

Brathay adapts their training to meet the development needs of each young person. Examples of such needs are to increase their self confidence and/or their self esteem, teamworking and/or communication skills; and making positive behavioural choices.

The Freemasons’ Grand Charity is central to all of the Freemasons’ charitable activity in England and Wales and carries a long tradition of support. Local Freemasons from the Furness & South Lakeland Group of the West Lancashire Province also support Brathay’s events programme and have played a major role in their annual Brathay Windermere Marathon

Godfrey Owen, Brathay’s Chief Executive, said “We greatly appreciate this ongoing support from Freemasons’ Grand Charity and their local Province ”
